When you first enter Tail Up Goat you can’t help but feel like you are in the Virgin Islands. One of the owners, who is from the Virgin Islands, worked with architects Lauren Winter and Sydney Luken from Edit Labs at Streetsense to incorporate bright colors into the space to give you that island-like feel.
Some of the main architectural highlights on the project are:
- Floating wood canopy ceiling
- Diving wall between the dining and the bar that supports the floating ceiling composed with wood columns, shelving for bottles and rope screen
- Open kitchen wall surrounded with fireclay brick and wood niches
In case you were wondering, the name comes from a Virgin Island saying… If the tail is down it’s a sheep if the tail is up it’s a goat.
