Brasero and Floreria Atlántico

a dual-concept dining and cocktail destination in Washington, D.C. that celebrates Argentine culture through open-fire cooking, seafood, and craft cocktails. Set within a historic firehouse, the space pairs a hidden cocktail bar behind a flower shop with a neighboring restaurant centered around live-fire cuisine and immersive design.

Brasero & Florería Atlántico in Washington, D.C. is the creation of two internationally acclaimed hospitality leaders: Renato “Tato” Giovannoni and Alex Resnik. Tato, one of the world’s most celebrated bartenders and master mixologist, approaches cocktails as cultural narratives. As co-founder and long-time hospitality leader, Alex Resnik brings depth and global experience to the project.

Together, Alex and Tato share a mission: to represent Argentina through open-fire cooking, culinary craftsmanship, and cocktail storytelling that draw on generations of immigrant influence. They see their D.C. home as a continuation of a larger journey, one shaped by community, culture, and the belief that food and drink serve as bridges between people.

Florería Atlántico: A Flower Shop with a Story Beneath the Surface

At street level, Florería Atlántico presents itself as a neighborly flower shop, lush bouquets, curated wines, Argentinian pastries, and the subtle charm of a European corner storefront. Behind the walk-in “fridge” door, however, lies a hidden cocktail bar shaped by the movement of cultures across oceans.

Submerged lighting, nacre shell tabletops, green velvet lounges, and a copper-inlaid bar define the space’s warm glow. The entire interior was replastered and hand-finished by the owner, whose personal artwork is thoughtfully integrated throughout. The room feels intimate, layered, and quietly theatrical—perfect for cocktail storytelling rooted in migration and heritage.

A seafood-forward menu complements the drinks, offering oysters, crudos, and empanadas inspired by Argentina’s coastal and immigrant traditions.

Brasero Atlántico: Live Fire, Open Space, and Argentinian Soul

Next door, Brasero Atlántico celebrates the fire-driven cuisine of Argentina. The restaurant is anchored by a dramatic show kitchen, where open-flame cooking becomes a central visual experience. The design balances structured steel with reclaimed barn wood, creating an aesthetic that’s both clean and soulfully textured.

In the dining room, a breathtaking upside-down tree native to Argentina hangs like a sculptural centerpiece—rooted in symbolism, suspended in motion. The space echoes the natural landscapes that shaped the country’s culinary identity.

A matching copper-inlaid bar ties the room together while visually harmonizing with Florería next door. As with its counterpart, Brasero’s interior was purposefully replastered and the owner, who added custom artwork to bring depth, narrative, and handcrafted character to every corner.

Helmed by Executive Chef Manuela Carbone, the menu honors Argentina’s immigrant-influenced culinary traditions through open-fire techniques, prime cuts, charcuterie, and vibrant produce.

Together, these two interconnected spaces offer a fully immersive hospitality experience, from the handcrafted cocktails and live-fire cooking to the thoughtful interior design shaped by steel, wood, copper, and art. Every corner reflects intention. Every detail carries meaning. Every visit adds a new chapter.
